Quick California trip... but worth it!

We found out Jason's Uncle Tony passed away on Wednesday, July 2nd. We both knew we needed to go down, but wasn't sure with Jason's work. It just so happened that he had that Saturday off which is very rare in his line of work. So we were off to California Saturday morning. These are 2 pictures I found of Uncle Tony and his sweet wife Auntie Lee. We sure are going to miss this guy, we loved visiting with him and his great sense of humor.

We made it to California Saturday evening and stayed with Ree and Christopher.
Sunday morning we went over to visit with Auntie Lee
Claire is finally letting Christopher hold her
Sunday afternoon we went over to see Patti's new house and the boys got to play LOTS of Wii! Jason's arm is still hurting from playing so much
Claire loved running outside of Grandma Patti's house
We had some free time and headed down to Balboa Beach and Claire got to ride the carousel.
It was 75º and so nice, compared to 95º back in Glendora
We played one game of Deal or No Deal in the arcade and won 252 tickets, so Claire got this fun ball.
The 3 of us in Balboa (Claire is staring at this little puppy that was on the ground)
Back at Ree's house Claire and Grandma were playing and was so happy,
but when Auntie Ree would take the ball ....
... this was the face she'd make!
We went over to the cemetery where Jason's Great Grandma is buried
And where Jason's Grandpa is buried.
This is who Claire shares her birthday with.
Later that evening we were able to attend the viewing for Uncle Tony and got to see lots of family that we hadn't seen in years. It was such a nice day! After that we ended up leaving and headed towards Las Vegas. We stayed at the South Point hotel, here's Claire all ready to sleep in her own bed
When we left Vegas it was 115º!!!
I love seeing these palm trees in Utah, such a wonderful site!
This is my new favorite thing from In-N-Out, a neapolitan shake! If you can't make up your mind what kind you want this is your answer!
This was the poem that was written on the program for Uncle Tony- I loved it, and it fit Uncle Tony perfectly
God saw you getting tired,
And a cure was not to be.
So he put his arms around you
And whispered, "Come to Me."
With tearful eyes we watched you suffer,
And saw you fade away.
Although we couldn't bear to lose you,
We could not ask you to stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands laid to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
That He only takes the best.

Even though you weren't there long, it looks like you did a lot of stuff and had a good time! Funny pic of Claire and the ball with Patti & Ree- she's silly!

Not a fun reason to go to CA... but it looks like you had a good time.
Time with family, nothing is better than that.

How sad to loose a family member. I'm glad you were able to make a quick trip down.
