Toys

Yesterday we took Claire to Toys R Us just because we were out running errands and they had air conditioning. It was so fun seeing Claire run and play with all the different toys. She found this princess chair that converted into a bed with a sleeping bag attached that she didn't want to leave. So we ended up coming home with yet another toy for Claire to push around our tiny house- she has her own grocery cart.
Jason had to go back into work last night, so Claire and I were playing and she emptied out the cart pushed it over to me held her hands up and said "Go" She was wanting me to put her in the cart like we do at the grocery store. Silly kid!

Concert in the Park

For Family Night we went up to the American Fork Amphitheater to see Sam Payne perform. I first saw him during one of our Peter B concerts, so when I saw he was doing a concert close to home and it was free, we were all over that. We first met up with my mom sister and nieces at Costa Vida-Delicious! Then headed up to the concert. I think Claire would have done better if it was just Sam Payne, but there was another girl that went on first, so after she was done Claire decided she had enough and wanted to play on the ROCKY stairs and then go run on the grass.
Grandma Diane and Claire before it started
Just to prove that Claire's parents also went too
Brenna and Jason before she was off and running with Abby and a new found friend
We tried pulling out all the tricks to get Claire to sit down for a few minutes, she loves playing with my wallet so I gave that to her but somehow it ended up in Abbys lap...hmmm
Sam Payne!!Claire clapping and not looking at the cameraClaire playing on the stairsClaire watching Grandma and Aunt Debbie from up above Claire running in the grassClaire hitting the pole at the bottom of the stairsClaire saw 2 dogs that she would just stare at and then cry when they left

Lets just say at the end of the night Claire was covered in dirt, and as soon as we got home went straight to the bath tub! But she did have lots of fun running around

Working with the Osmonds

This past weekend I worked at the Conference Center for the Pioneer Day Concert with the Osmond Family. It was 2 very long days (10 hrs) but we did have some fun along with the work. Friday I was over at the Conference Center to serve lunch to the Osmonds and Audio Visual people, and Donny was the first one in the door. (I got a picture of him on my camera phone getting his food as I was hiding behind some water coolers) He is really short! The rest of their family came in also including some grandkids who were all very very kind! Marie came in towards the end and just looked gorgeous and very skinny. Later that night along with Saturday night I was doing a dinner for the Public Affairs people who were invited to attend the concert and I got to see Mayor Becker and Elder Cook.

Friday night we were trying to leave before the concert was over but just as we got to the exit the concert had just let out. And we were not able to cross the street to get to our cars, so we just hung out in front of the temple for a few minutes. So here's a picture of the crowd and my friend Renne's floating head.

And here's a pretty picture of the SLC temple

Fun times with friends

This past 24th of July we were invited up to BBQ to spend some time with the Spencers who were visiting from California. I did not get alot of pictures, but we still had a fun time visiting with lots of people and had some great food. They set up this fun slip-n-slide, that Claire would step on and immediatley fall on her bum.She watched everyone playing Rockband so once they cleared she took over on the drumsClaire got to try her first sparkler with lots of help from Wayne

Corn

Harwood corn stands are out, so we took advantage of it a few days ago, and man is it good!! Here is Claire enjoying her first corn on the cob at Grandma Diane's houseThen Debra reminded me of a recipe we had seen on this site, and we both ended up making them last night at our seperate houses. But first I remembered this trick I learned from the Food Network. An easy way to cut the corn, is to get out your bundt pan, stick the cob in the middle whole and cut straight down, and all the kernals fall into the pan.
(I remembered to take the picture after I was all finished but you can get the idea)
So here is the finished product, they were delicious! But I was having a flash back to when I was preggo and I was eating corn fritters and they didn't settle well. So I only had 2, but Jason did love them also. We have been trying to find a good recipe or somewhere that sells corn fritters because the Sizzlers up here do not sell them. I really suggest you try making these.

I love Otter Pops

Jason loves having a night time treat, and otter pops are usually a favorite since we have so many of them but now he has to share with Claire. She loves when he goes into the freezer and brings out one for her also. Claire is showing me how happy she is that daddy got one for her.

Wii!

We are now proud owners of a Wii (thanks to an early, early birthday present for Jay from his mom) We have lots of fun playing it. The girls came up tonight for a visit and had a great time playing it. Claire even has a ball pretending to play, then she got bored and decided going under Abby's legs was more fun.

Quick California trip... but worth it!

We found out Jason's Uncle Tony passed away on Wednesday, July 2nd. We both knew we needed to go down, but wasn't sure with Jason's work. It just so happened that he had that Saturday off which is very rare in his line of work. So we were off to California Saturday morning. These are 2 pictures I found of Uncle Tony and his sweet wife Auntie Lee. We sure are going to miss this guy, we loved visiting with him and his great sense of humor.

We made it to California Saturday evening and stayed with Ree and Christopher.
Sunday morning we went over to visit with Auntie Lee
Claire is finally letting Christopher hold her
Sunday afternoon we went over to see Patti's new house and the boys got to play LOTS of Wii! Jason's arm is still hurting from playing so much
Claire loved running outside of Grandma Patti's house
We had some free time and headed down to Balboa Beach and Claire got to ride the carousel.
It was 75º and so nice, compared to 95º back in Glendora
We played one game of Deal or No Deal in the arcade and won 252 tickets, so Claire got this fun ball.
The 3 of us in Balboa (Claire is staring at this little puppy that was on the ground)
Back at Ree's house Claire and Grandma were playing and was so happy,
but when Auntie Ree would take the ball ....
... this was the face she'd make!
We went over to the cemetery where Jason's Great Grandma is buried
And where Jason's Grandpa is buried.
This is who Claire shares her birthday with.
Later that evening we were able to attend the viewing for Uncle Tony and got to see lots of family that we hadn't seen in years. It was such a nice day! After that we ended up leaving and headed towards Las Vegas. We stayed at the South Point hotel, here's Claire all ready to sleep in her own bed
When we left Vegas it was 115º!!!
I love seeing these palm trees in Utah, such a wonderful site!
This is my new favorite thing from In-N-Out, a neapolitan shake! If you can't make up your mind what kind you want this is your answer!
This was the poem that was written on the program for Uncle Tony- I loved it, and it fit Uncle Tony perfectly
God saw you getting tired,
And a cure was not to be.
So he put his arms around you
And whispered, "Come to Me."
With tearful eyes we watched you suffer,
And saw you fade away.
Although we couldn't bear to lose you,
We could not ask you to stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands laid to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
That He only takes the best.

Fourth of July

Claire in her Fourth of July attire (her shirt says, "I'm a Star Studded Cutie" We went over to the Leishmans house for a delicious BBQ. Claire went straight for these little chairs that were just her height.

She played catch with Abby

She was entertained by Madison who would bounce this ball in the air and Claire would crack up- I Love the little things that keep her attention!

We then headed over the the Stadium of Fire, it was mine and Jason's first time.

Here's the 3 Miley fans before entering the stadium. Abby, Madison and Brenna

Sitting in our seats, it was supposed to be over 100º that day but this nice cloud cover came in and it really wasn't that bad.
Here's where Aunt Donna's seat were, I only found her in the picture I don't know where her kids were sitting.
These parachuters were awesome, I wasn't expecting them to land on the field because it was quite windy, but they all landed just fine.
Ahhh the jets, this part was so neat to feel the whole stadium vibrating as they flew over head.
This is how Abby was most of the time (looking for Miley!)
We saw the Blue Man Group
Then finally MILEY came out to perform
Abby and Brenna were in heaven!!
And finally a great ending to an awesome show- these fireworks were amazing, I thought it was never going to end.
