Shoes

I bought Claire a new pair of black Mary Janes to wear with her Christmas dress- BUT she wanted nothing to do with them! And I mean nothing, she screamed and when I went to put her on the ground it was like she was frozen and would not move. (so those are going back to the store) So while I was at WalMart I found a pair of soft comfy pink shoes for Claire to try and get used to, well I put those on her and she screamed even louder and was shaking!! Great my daughter is going to be barefoot the rest of her life!!!
Anyways I brought the shoes to my moms yesterday, we put them on her and tried to distract her with a bottle (it worked, and she fell asleep for 1 hour with her shoes on!)
Well when she woke up she was fine because the blanket was covering her shoes, but as soon as we removed that blanket and she saw that they were still on her feet- she was not a happy camper!

(The blanket was just removed and she hasn't seen them yet....)

(Uh oh now she saw them...)

("I'm not so sure I like these things on my feet"...)

("NOPE, I hate these things on my feet!")

("Really get these off!!!!)
Lesson to all those new mothers out there: Put shoes on your child as soon as you can!

What did Santa bring us?

I know you are wondering what Santa brought the Dallessandro family.... Well here it is.

Claire's gifts

Jason & Janna's gifts
Jason also got me a new purse which is not pictured because we left alot of stuff at my moms house, so here is the link for the purse he got me, I love it because I have had a diaper bag for the last 8 + months!
Jason and I both gave eachother a piece of paper for Christmas!! I know your all jealous, but it's what it is written on the paper that is the best!
(I cried) now I have to wait a whole year!

Jason gets to choose, I couldn't make up my mind

It's Christmas!

Claire in her Christmas dress- she actually kept the bow on all through church!
Santa found us at Grandma Diane's house, the mess after wards was not a pretty sight!

Here's Claire trying to open her first present, she had a really bad nights sleep and still has her little cold here.

Now she's awake and loving all the bows

Time for a break from all the presents

We went to the Harrisons house for a yummy dinner, a fun game, and gift exchange.

We had a white Christmas, here's a shot of the mountains and our partially snow covered car.

Merry Christmas!
We had a great day and hope that you all did too!

Christmas Eve

For Christmas Eve morning, I met my sisters, mom, & nieces at Mimi's Cafe for breakfast (I love their honey oat bran muffins, YUM!) When they brought Claire her high chair they also brought along, this cute plate for her that had- cheerios, an orange slice, crackers, a bib (that Claire ripped right away) & a wet nap. I thought it was just great! We need to go back again.

Here's Abby & Brenna inside Mimi's while waiting for our table.

Then my next adventure was off to IHC Instacare, Claire had a cold but that morning she started wheezing really bad, so my mom told it would be a good idea to get it checked out just in case. So of course it Christmas Eve and her pediatrician is closed so I went to the Instacare office and the sign on the desk when I checked in said "Your wait will be approximatley 1 hour & 30 minutes!" Claire was entertained by 3 crazy kids that were running around, then she found a wheelchair that she was quite interested in, she attacked every plant in the office, then finally fell asleep... then they called her name. We ended up waiting for 1 hour and 45 minutes. Turns out her ozygen levels were fine lungs sounded good, the doctor thinks it was just her cold causing her breathing problems, and he also found that she had a mild ear infection in both ears, so he gve me a prescription and we were on our way.

We came home filled her prescription, packed our bags ans headed down to Grandma Diane's house to spend the night. We got there just in time before a huge and quick snow storm came, we were glad to be inside watching the effects of Mother Nature and not to be driving in it.

Here's Claire in hew new pajamas the she got to open for Christmas Eve.

christmas cookies

I usually make homemade sugar cookies and home made frosting for Christmas time, but this year I didn't feel like making that huge mess, so I took some help from my good friend, Pillsbury! Abby and Brenna came over last week and we rolled out the dough, cut out their favorite shapes, baked, then frosted and decorated in a bout an hour! It was great.
Here's some of thier finished work (you can tell they like their sprinkles!)

Banquets at the COB

Most of you know that my Awesome cousin Amy got me a part- part- time job working with her doing banquets at the church office building up in Salt Lake. Well Friday was the last day we were scheduled this year, and we were working President Hinckley's Holiday party, up on the 26th floor of the COB. And sinne a huge snowstorm came in the night before I knew I should bring my camera to take pics of what the storm left behind.

Here's Amy and I before the banquet started

Hmmm you might recognize some of these names... we were silly and took the name tags, although all the others seamed to have disappeared, I think other people had the same idea!
Now here's the shots from the roof top

Sleeping, Christmas tree, wrapping & licorice?

Why the weird title you might ask? Well I had lots of pictures and decided to put them all in one post.
Claire fell asleep while sitting up during our family progressive dinner we had, then a few days later fell asleep while laying with her daddy- both of these things are not normal for Claire.
This was Claire's first encounter with a Christmas tree- and she did not like the feel of it, so far she has left alone everyone she's seen.

I was wrapping Christmas presents the other day and Claire decided she wanted to help, so she climbed up on the box, grabbed the ribbon, and wrapped herself with the ribbon instead of the boxes.

Now today Claire was sitting with me at the computer, and I was eating a piece of licorice... Claire turns to me grabs it out of my mouth and starts eating it herself. I guess it felt good on those sore gums of hers so I let her have it. Kept her happy for a good 10 minutes.

And yet another Peter B concert...

This years Peter Breinholt concert was combined with Ryan Shupe and the Rubber Band, and Sam Payne- it was called The Gift Tour. My moms work party was held here at the McKay center at UVSC, and she didn't want to go to the concert so she told me and Debra we could use the tickets....SCORE! Even better a free Peter B concert. It was a great concert and fun to hear new music from the other artists.

(I'm not really pointing at the lady I was supposed to be pointing at the sign, Debra didn't tell me to point higher)

8 Months

Yeah it's Claire's 8 month birthday! Here she is standing next to her toy chest (she pulled herself up like that) She is loving being able to crawl around and get to where to she wants to be. Now we just have to make sure every little thing is off the ground because she will find it. If your laying on the ground Claire gets all excited and crawls over to you and attacks your hair, she thinks its the funniest thing. She also enjoys playing catch with daddy- well not really catch, more like just gets really excited and the ball ends up going somewhere and Jason will throw it back to her.
We love watching all the new things she is learning
Happy 8 months Claire!

She can crawl??

Yup that's right she started taking off on her hands and knees last night- 4 days shy of her 8 month birthday. Time to really baby proof the house, and Grandma Diane it's time we finally find that gate for you stairway. I know these pictures don't really capture her crawling but you can get the idea.
