Red Rock

We decided to go check out another hotel, the Red Rock. It was beautiful. We grabbed some lunch while we were there. And Claire picked out this orange colored ice cream... little did she know it would turn out to be PEACH! Anyone who knows Claire knows that she "HATES PEACHES" So I thought it was kind of funny that she was eating it, after 4 bites she finally decided she didn't like it and then we told her what it was. One of her favorite things is to throw money in a fountain, of course she turns to me and says, "give me all our money mom"
We went outside to see the pool and she found these huge set of stairs that kept her entertained for a while.
We had a great day visiting another 'big hotel'

Our house... sort of...

I snapped a few pictures of our little apartment while the house was clean. Here's our room with my newly finished artwork (you can read more about it here) Our house is totally 80's! Like our dry bar? I guess you have to have one of these in Vegas. Ours turned into a spot for all our Disney collectables.
(Notice how Claire appears in all my pictures)
Our living room/office
And here's our kitchen which I hate! I really hate cooking in this house, the cabinets are shallow and the drawers fall out everytime you open them, the counters are low, the microwave is going to fall out soon, and the sink is tiny! Oh well we did the best we could when we only had 1 day to look around and find a place to live. Just a few more months and we'll find another place where we can be really happy.

Cupcakes

We made cupcakes one night and Claire was a big help and couldn't wait to decorate them.
I was going to share the recipe but I didn't like the way they turned out. So Claire ate hers and I threw the rest in the trash. We did have fun making them though!!

The Lion's and Fish

On Jason's day off we were debating about what to do- go see the white tigers at the Mirage OR the Sharks at Mandalay Bay. Hmmm, so instead we went to the MGM to go see the Lions and then went and ate lunch at the Rainforest Cafe to see all the fish.
Claire and I waiting for our food (she told me she wasn't going to smile in this picture)
On our way back to the car we passed through some shops and Claire found this gun and glasses that she would have loved to take home with her.
We drove up the strip before heading home to see the masses of people, and Claire still loves to see all the BIG hotels. I liked seeing the snow in the mountains and not on the ground.

Claire's 3rd Christmas

Jason's family was coming into town so we could celebrate Christmas together (only 3 weeks late) Claire's latest thing is that she likes to hid when someone comes over, so here she's hiding in one of her favorite spots We started everything off with brunch at the Green Valley Resort
Aunt Kat and Jason
Check out those crab legs (yuck)
Uncle Edgar & Aunt Kat
We went back to our house to open up the presents
Later on we ended up at a pet store across the street from their hotel and Aunt Kat almost took this dog home with her
Meanwhile Claire had fun playing with this dog through the glass.
We then went and did some cosmic bowling which was so much fun
Claire and Grandma Patti having a deep conversation (I think this is where Claire convinced her to let her stay the night at the hotel)
The next morning we got back to the hotel early to bring Claire some clothes and get her ready for the day, she LOVED staying in the big hotel and slept all night in her usual diagonal position so Grandma hardly had any room. She's checking out the view and noticed the bowling sign where we were the night before.
We took everyone to see the airplanes land, some people stayed in the car because it was cold out. Edgar came and scared Claire.

Brittney and Claire- she loved playing with her and was so sad when she had to leave.
We loved having everyone here, it was a very short trip but so much fun. Thanks for everything

A day at the "Castle"

Christopher and Colleen were in town for a fun weekend so we met up with them at their hotel- Excalibur! Claire has been asking to go see the castle since we got here and she finally got her wish.We had some lunch then went downstairs to play some games. Would have been a lot more fun if all the games worked. But we still had fun with some great company

Family Night at the Bellagio

We had been promising Claire that we would go to Las Vegas (AKA: the big hotels) to see the water show at the Bellagio hotel. We finally found a night where Jason wasn't working and I didn't have to be up early the next morning for work. The Leishmans joined us down there and we had a fun time minus the crazy street performers who wouldn't leave us alone!

On our way back we went to U-Swirl and Claire got a new mixture of vanilla yogurt with m&m's, sprinkles, chocolate chips and gummy bears!

New Years Eve / Day

New Years Eve and we're in Vegas!!! Well actually just in our home in Las Vegas. We had a yummy fondue dinner and watched the ball drop in New York, then Claire went to bed. Jay and I weren't too far behind her, I actually went to bed then set my alarm to wake up just before midnight. I turned on the local news channel and watched the fireworks on TV then opened my back door so I could at least hear them in the distance. It was a fun show
Cute Claire and her messy face from dinner
New Years Day we went over to the Bass Pro shop to just look around. Grandpa Brad and Mary Ann met us over there.

I think Gpa Brad was having a heart to heart convo with this cat fish.
Claire got a little lesson on putting from her dad
Then we went to the Silverton casino and looked at the huge aquarium and then stayed to see the mermaid show...
Claire was so excited that she blew her two kisses from underwater!

We then went and had some lunch at Johnny Rockets. It's so fun exploring our new town and all the free things there are to do here
