2 days of fun

We are grateful when Jason has 2 days off in a row, it allows us to have some fun as a family. We decided to go up to the Discovery Gateway museum in SLC. We had never been there before so we asked if we could have a quick tour of the building. After our tour he gave a free pass to get in for the day, Score! We weren't out any money and Claire got to roam around as much as she wanted. They do have lots of fun things for the kids to do, so we will be back at some point. This was called the Beehive, you can drop balls in different tubes and watch them go up/down/all around. Claire's face was just so funny trying to push that ball in as quick as possible so the wind wouldn't get to her. She was in heaven a real kitchen just her size!

This was a little mouse house, push the button and you can see what 's going on inside.
She had fun grocery shopping,

and playing puzzles. But not being forced to take a picture with her mother.
We then went over to Applebee's for some lunch.
Then we walked over to the Apple store to get my early Anniversary/Birthday present... I got an i Touch! (the salesman asked if I had any questions about it, I of course said, YES everything, I don't know how it works. I told him I have never owned an IPod... he gasped and wanted to tell the whole store! We then went and played by the fountains then headed for home. Claire was asleep by the time we turned out of the parking lot.
So she had a fun day.
Day 2- We were going to head up to Wheeler Farm but today was much colder and as we got closer we could see that it was snowing up that way so we decided to just head to Thanksgiving Point Farm. This was our quickest Farm trip yet, it was 30º and I wasn't quite prepared for it to be that cold, luckily I had gloves in the car for Claire. We were the only ones at the Farm until we left we saw more people coming in.
Claire got to ride the ponies but only went around twice because it was so cold.
We then ventured back inside to some warmth and played with toys inside.
After our whirlwind trip to the farm we headed over to Costco to pick up some diapers, but we should've eaten first because we left there with alot more than just diapers. Then stopped by El Pollo Loco to pick up lunch to bring home. I then had to go into work that night so Jason and Claire had another fun night of daddy daughter bonding.

February Randomness

Cleaning out my February pictures... here's what I found,
Grandma Diane reading to Claire, then... Brenna decides to do the same thing!
We got to spend some time with the all the Crook cousins
Check out the icicle out side of my moms house
We got to play with "baby Addie" (Randy and Jennie's adorable girl)
Claire was trying to put all the swords into the bucket, I just loved how much she was concentrating on doing this
She learned to drink her milk after the cereal was all gone
When we are in the office, Claire always asks for paper to color on and recently she found that while putting the paper on the carpet she can make holes into the paper, and now does it all the time
Here is my wall that Debra and mom came over with to help me hang up, I am still missing one piece in that bottom left hand corner just haven't found the right thing to put up. (that picture on the right is of the LA Temple)

** Claire has mastered her ABC's and will just start singing it when ever she pleases, I have heard her a few times in the morning singing it before I go into get her.

** She also likes to turn the lights on and off, so she found that by taking her step stool to every light switch in the house she can reach it much easier. Then one afternoon I hear the heater kick on and I knew I didn't turn it on yet, pretty soon Claire comes running in my room saying, "heater on" (with a big smile on her face) I go check and she had turned the airconditioner on and every light in the living room, kitchen and hallway, including the ceiling fan! So my house was really cold for a bit!

Night out at the Mayan

Last week Jason had to go up to the Murray store to pick up something so we decided to make a night of it and do something we rarely do. We went to the Mayan for dinner- we knew Claire would enjoy it. We are early eaters when it comes to restaurants. We'd rather get in there and eat then wait for ridiculous amounts of time (when we left about 5:45 the wait time was up to 75 minutes) I haven't been since they did all the remodeling a few years ago, so Claire had fun exploring the waiting area. This placed reminded me of Indiana Jones and Jungle Cruise- it even smelled like Disneyland!
Mommy and Claire just waiting for our table
When we were seated Claire went right in for the chips and salsa, she loves to dip food. And we knew this salsa had a little kick to it, Claire's reaction was priceless and went straight for her drink.
We watched the diving show twice, Claire loved to watch them fall down and kept wanting more.
Then we headed over to Tai Pan Trading to snoop around, and I did end up finding things to complete my wall that has been empty for 5 months. I'll post a picture later. Claire loved this mirror and making faces at herself seamed to entertain her for a little while.

Finally Celine!

14 months later we were off to see Celine Dion up at the Energy Solutions arena. Here's a pic of Jay and I before the concert- Jason was more excited then I was! (jk)

I was a little worried that someone would be sitting in our seats because back when Jason ordered the tickets they got lost in the mail, so after many calls from Debra to Ticket Master they assured us that tickets would be at will call and they were. (Just in case I brought 2 printouts from ticket master and a copy of our credit card statement where Jason bought the tickets) We ended up only needing our ID and we were in!

We had some interesting people sitting around us who kept us very entertained while waiting for it to begin (Jason loved his neighbors). She had a very funny singing impressionist open for her, Gordie Brown.

I have to admit a little tear came out when she finally appeared on stage- she is an amazing performer. Again she didn't disappoint, it was an awesome concert. Her stage set up was so fun, I found this video on YouTube that kind of sums up the whole concert and done very well I might add.
Then here are some of the pictures I took- it's not easy getting a good picture when you are so far away and in bad lighting, so I put the best ones together in a collage. If you click on the picture and check out that middle picture- look at those shoes! They laced all the way up her thigh!

Jay and I after the concert (again bad lighting and a bad camera makes for a bad picture) I asked Jason if we could name our next child Celine... or change Claire's middle name to Celine. He didn't like that idea too much! Thank you Jason for a great Christmas present and for amusing me in my little addiction. And Thanks family for watching Claire again for us!

Valentine's Day

So Jason and I went out for a pre-Valentines dinner on Friday night to Texas Road House, we got there about 4:30 and still had a 45 minute wait, but it was so worth it! The next morning I dropped Jason off at work at 6:00 in the morning then decided to just head to my moms house to go get Claire. When I got there at 6:15am I saw 3 deer outside. So I decided since I was awake and everyone else was sleeping I would sit on my moms porch and watch for more deer, well after 30 minutes of being out there I saw nothing just some light snow that had started to fall.
Once everyone was awake we were able to get lots of things done for Sandie's showers and wedding, then Claire went outside to help shovel the driveway so we could all leave to run some errands.

That afternoon the sky was so BLUE- we had to get a picture
Jason had brought me home a dozen roses, I forgot to get a picture of them, they just started dying yesterday.
Claire back at our house, I think she is trying one of her poses here
Then getting her first taste of a chocolate covered strawberry that I had got for Jason. She loved it!
Claire is eating more strawberries with her daddy before heading off to bed.

Weekend in Mesquite

We left right after Brenna's party to head down to Mesquite to visit Jason's family- Mesquite is the perfect half way point! We of course stopped at In-N-Out in St. George and Claire enjoyed her first grilled cheese (she's not into hamburger meat yet) We all stayed together in this wonderful condo, much easier than staying in stinky hotel/casino rooms. We all had a place to sit and visit with each other and a full kitchen.
Claire likes to put her stuffed animals in a diaper, so she was showing Grandma Patti how Minnie Mouse wears a diaper. And Grandma said yes Claire Minnie goes potty... a few minutes went by and Claire said "Grandma Minnie Mouse go Potty!" Sure enough we walked into the bathroom and yup Minnie was floating face up in the potty! It was quite funny so then Minnie Mouse had to take a turn in the dryer. Claire was waiting by the dryer for her to be "all done!" Claire loves playing with Nona's walker
Auntie Ree with most of the stuff we brought (remember we were only there for 2 nights)
Christopher! Check out how low the snow line got behind him
We left on a very windy Monday morning, our commutes for North and South were not looking pretty. Turned out we only hit a small bit of snow but for the others they had horrible wind and lots of snow, funny how that worked out!

On our way home Claire kept telling me to look at her, she took the little Winnie the Pooh bear that Grandma had given her and used it as a pillow, so she had a very comfy ride home.

Brenna's 6!

Brenna's turned 6 on February 7th and had a very fun Pinkalicious Party with some friends from school. Claire got to come along too since I was helping Debra with the party.
