August is over

I thought I would do a post of the random pictures that were left on my computer for this month.
Claire's latest way to mess up our house is by pulling out all our shoes from the closet then sits inside and has even shut the door so it's hard for me to find her because she'll sit in there so quietly.
She loves getting up on the chair to the computer and types (or pounds) away at the keyboard, she also loves sitting there and watching the screen saver pictures go by as she is naming the people in the pictures.
Claire loves to help us clean, whenever we are doing something she has to jump right in and help, she's a good sweeper and duster. And she loves to help me with laundry, she puts clothes into the dryer then slams the door shut. Hopefully this will continue for a while (fingers crossed)Her hair is long enough to go into pigtails! Now will she keep them in?? Nope! This was a fire we saw on the other side of the Lake while we were going down to my moms house.
Claire has a new fetish with dogs! If she hears a dog she starts barking, and if she sees one on tv she gets all serious and has to find one of her stuffed doggies. Then she'll grab it and give it a big hug and kiss. (While I was adding this picture in Claire saw it and had to run and find that dog, silly girl)
Jason was so close to getting a perfect score on Wii, it came down to the last frame and he got a spare.Claire and Brenna out for a walk
While at my moms house Brenna told me that Debra had just trimmed their hair so she wanted me to take a picture of it- here's Brenna and Abby and the back of their newly cut hair.
This dress I bought for Claire when she was 4 months old and she is now able to fit into it- just in time for the end of the summer. I love how bright it is. I took this after a long day at church so she was not cooperating one bit. And finally today Claire found my hat and it looked so dang cute on her so I was "trying" to get a picture of her, but the little stinker closed her eyes for everyone of them!

Park City weekend

This past weekend Jason had 2 days off in a row so we decided to go up to Park City for the night to just relax and for a change of scenery. We enjoyed looking at some shops and Claire enjoyed laying in this comfy chair. We went swimming and just literally relaxed and watched a lot of Olympics on TV. Claire entertained herself with the mirror and put everything she could find in all the drawers. She also loved playing with the hotel phone (which I unplugged as soon as we got there)
Just a picture to prove we were really in Park City. It was so nice outside- 75ยบ!
Then when we left our hotel it was early afternoon and we decided to take Claire to the Aquarium in Sandy. She loved splashing in the water at the Sting Ray exhibit, then one decided to come out of the water and Claire got to touch her first Sting Ray (scared me to death every time they would come above water)
Here's Claire and the "Nemo" fish. These Aquariums were so bright and colorful. We bought a pass so we will be back in the future.
We didn't take a lot of pictures but had a nice relaxing time up there.

A day of playing!

This past Tuesday we went up to the Dinosaur museum with my cousin Amy and her son Seth and a friend of hers, Kelly and her two sons. During this month, every Tuesday it only costs $2.00 to get into any venue at Thanksgiving Point. Let me just say I am so grateful that we have a pass so that we can go enjoy those days when no one is there. This was a mad house, I felt like I was at Disneyland waiting in a long summer line. We waited for 30 minutes just to get inside the building and once we were in there was people/kids everywhere. Claire spent her time running mostly and hanging on every pole she could. It was fun but I am definatley not going back on a Tuesday.

Later that evening some friends of ours invited us to go with them to a little pond not far from our house to do some fishing. We were so excited to go and do something different and enjoy the outdoors. I realized Claire needed a little chair so I went over to Walgreens and found this Mickey Mouse chair for 1/2 off (love end of the season bargains)! Can you tell she's enjoying it?
Here is Jason's first fish he caught... oh wait, you can't see it? Oh that's probably because it was only 2-3 inches long! There were a ton of these fish and they caught quite a few of them but threw them back in.
Here's our friends Tim and Amy (Amy is 8 months pregnant! and so cute) with Claire- she wanted to be right where the action was.
Claire touched her first fish and wasn't even afraid unlike her mom who tried to get away from it.
This is where I sat and watched them catch the little fish. We had a fun time with them that night. I brought stuff to make smores if there was a fire pit but it got dark so quickly that we ended up bringing them back to Tim and Amy's house and made them in the oven, they were perfect and quite tasty!

Grammy (Pat Pat) and Auntie La La visit

This post is long overdue... Jason's mom and aunt came up to visit the beginning part of August. I was waiting for more pictures from Maria's camera but I guess I'll just post mine then add the others in later when I get them.
They flew in Friday morning and after we got them from the airport we went to Cracker Barrell for a yummy breakfast. Then drove down to Thanksgiving Point. We rented the golf cart there which was wonderful. Claire had so much fun running up and down this big hill.
{insert more pics later}
Our golf cart at the top with Jason and Maria inside
Grammy and Claire
Claire hanging out by the koi fish, so many lilly pads were blooming. And we heard 2 bull frogs but no luck in finding them.
Claire and one of her many presents... Maria got her this Dora couch which she is loving.
Claire and grammy
Maria hates thunder storms, so sure enough the weekend they were here there was 2 big ones. This was the view from our balcony of the sunsetting and the storm clouds. We had fun watching the lightning that night.
We spent a day up at Park City and when we got to the outlets, this is what was parked right next to us. I had to get a picture because I loved that movie Cool Runnings.

We went down Main Street and went to the Park Silly Street Fair, Claire got to see lots of different shapes and sizes of dogs, it was like her personal dog show and she loved it.

Another one of Claire's gifts was this fun ball pit
It was a great weekend, and we did so much and even had time to relax which was nice.
{insert more pics later}
I have to write about what the title of this post means. I was teaching Claire that Grammy Patti was coming to visit, so she got the grammy part down then when it came to the Patti, she would clap her hands. It took me a long time to figure it out but what she was doing was saying Grammy (Patty cake). It works for now for a 16 month old. Then Auntie Ree's name is La La because since Claire was born Ree would sing to her on the phone "It's a Small World" So now she is known as La La. And whenever the phone rings she has to say "LaLa", even though it's not always her.

Hair time!

The other day I was laying on the floor and Claire started touching my hair, so I said "Are you gonna do my hair?" Next thing I knew Claire got up ran into my bedroom and came by with my hair straightner. She's so silly! Just a cute picture of Claire "bonking" her daddy
I was packing some things away in Claire's bathroom and found all of her bows she used to wear when she was younger and couldn't reach her head to pull them off (little stinker). I thought I'd try it on her and see what she did, and of course gives me this cheesy smile! I loved those bows, and I remember how big this one was compared to her little 3 month old head.
Then I was playing with her hair and wondered if it would fit into a ponytail... it did! Her hair is so curly you would never guess it. She would not hold still for me to get a good picture, but there is proof that it will go back into a ponytail

Breaking Dawn weekend

We (meaning Sandie, Amy, Wendy, Jodi, Kelly, MaryAnn and I) went down to St. George and stayed at this awesome house so we could read the last book in the Twilight series,
"Breaking Dawn"
We had to stop at the new In-N-Out for dinner Friday night
Our cute Twilight Toes...Mine are the cute TAN ones... haha I wish!
This was my frist book release party, we had so much fun in our little corner in the childrens section. There were lots of weirdos to watch
Wendy and I with our cute hats!
The 7 of us waiting outside for midnight to hurry up- it was HOT
Finally at 12:20 am the book was in my hand!
We went straight back to the house where we all got into our jammies and then the reading and the quiet started. I got 3 hours of sleep that night. My eyelids were trying to win the fight the next afternoon so I had to keep getting up and find different places to read.
Group shot before leaving the house on Sunday- it was a Great time and we all finished the book, all 754 pages of it
THANKS to all those who helped in watching Claire while I was gone. I knew she was in good hands. And Thank you to Jason for letting me go- I really appreciated it. Love you Jay!
