Garrett Family Reunion- Star Valley

Quick version of our trip to Star Valley for my dads side of the families reunion. Left Springville at noon on Friday, drove to Sandies house in SLC, grabbed something to eat, got a flat tire (in the rental van), pulled into the nearest driveway (OfficeMax), waited in 100 degree heat for the guy to come fix it, went to Firestone to get the tire fixed and aligned, then was finally off to Wyoming... 5 hours later than planned! So our 4 hour trip turned into a 10 hour event, but we made it into the valley before 10 pm.

Tag! Your'e It!!!

I have been tagged...but this time is a little different. I am suppose to list 7 different facts about myself; funny, random, silly, whatever. Then I will choose 7 new people to tag. If you tagged, then please list the rules when you post.

1. I LOVE my daughter, Claire. We have been married for 6 years, so it's been a long time coming. But we finally have her in our family, and we are grateful for it.

2. I can say the alphabet backwards! I learned it from my Grandpa Crook many years ago, and haven't forgot it yet.

3. For the 6 years Jason and I have been married, we have had 5 different couches, we have lived in 6 different houses and have had 7 different cars!! WoW!

4. I absolutely LOVE Disneyland!! I can't remember a time when I haven't loved it. I have had a pass since I was 16 years old (and I babysat alot to earn that money to get it) It truely is my Happy Place!! Hopefully it will be Claire's too... with me as her mom how could it not! We even have a brick there with our names and wedding date on it, and if they ever try and change the area where it is located, I will go in with my crow bar (like Lucy and Ethel did at Graumans Chinese Theater) and get it before they destroy it.

5. We watch I Love Lucy whenever we can find it on tv. Even though we have seen every episode like a gazillion times we can't pass up watching it. Claire and I have even started watching it every morning at 9:00

6. I have everything that you will ever need to start scrapbooking and rubber stamping... have I done any of it lately? NO! But soon, if you plan on coming to our house, don't expect to see a clean table. I am going to get Claire's book started, so the scrapbook supplies will be out in full force!

7. Now this is a hard one to admit to... but I'm doing it so Uncle Dennis will stop telling everyone first! I once (a long, long time ago) didn't know that there were onions in onion rings!!! I used to eat them until I found out they were really in there. There I fessed up to it, so no more talking about it.

Photo Session

I finally decided it was time to take Claire to Kiddie Kandids in the mall. We went on Saturday afternoon (Janna, Claire, Grandma Diane, Sandie, Debra, Abby & Brenna) I wanted her to be able to smile in her pictures, and she did a good job after I sang "Old McDonald" to her about 15 times to get her smile to come out. Here are the shots we ended up buying...

 

 

 

 

Pretty Toes!

We have yet to cut Claire's toe nails since she was born, and I kept saying I'm going to paint her little toes nails... so this morning I finally did it! I put her in her Bumbo chair and got out my hot pink polish and painted those tiny toes. It didn't take Jason to long before he noticed when we got home from work. I think they look pretty cute.


 
 

3 Months Old

So our little Claire turned 3 months old... it sure goes by quick. Here's some of her accomplishments so far..

* Sleeps through the night (now, nap times are another story)
* Loves bath time
* Smiles like crazy when people talk to her
* Has found her vocal cords work really well (especially in church)
* Loves being sung to and will giggle at you if your lucky

 

Jets

I got a picture of the jets that flew over the Stadium of Fire, just as they were almost out of view. I didn't know they were coming, so I had just turned off my camera as I heard everyone start yelling "here they come" So for those of you who can't see them, they are those 3 greyish blobs just above the house. (I just looked at the picture on here and it might be better if you double click on it to make it bigger)

 

4th of July!!

4th of July went by quick this year... we went over to the Leishman's house for a yummy BBQ and to watch fireworks. We weren't so sure how Claire would handle all the noise but she did okay since she slept for the first part of them. I think Abby and Brenna had enough sugar for the night, I think they had about 4 snow cones each. They also got glow sticks that were made in the shape of flowers it was so cute. We had a great time, and loved watching the Stadium of Fire fireworks from their front lawn. Here's some pictures of the evenings events...
